Cannabis Aloo Tikki With Chutney: Lucknow Vendor’s ‘Special’ Snack For ‘Trusted Patrons’ Lands Him In Jail

In Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, police have arrested four people in two separate incidents for supplying cannabis in unexpected ways. One of the accused was a street food vendor who allegedly laced his snacks with the drug while three others were caught transporting it in school bags.

The first case was reported from the Mohanlalganj area. Police arrested a 42-year-old vendor, identified as Pramod Sahu, who had been running a small kiosk. He sold popular items like aloo tikki and boiled eggs, PTI reported. As per police officials, Sahu was secretly mixing cannabis in certain food items for a group of “trusted patrons."

The PTI report mentioned that the cannabis was not only added to the aloo tikki but also to the chutney and other side servings at his booth. This made his snacks different from regular ones and attracted several customers who specifically visited his stall for this purpose. Apart from serving food mixed with cannabis, police said Sahu was also supplying the drug separately in packets to people who approached him directly.
